According to Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, lipomas are among the most common benign tumors in dogs. They’re typically slow-growing, soft, round, and movable beneath the skin, and are particularly common in older and overweight dogs.

Cats can develop lipomas too, although they’re less common.

The important part? Not every soft lump is a lipoma. Other masses can feel surprisingly similar.

Cysts & Other Skin Growths

Dogs and cats can also develop cysts, warts, follicular growths, and many other types of skin masses.

Survival also increased numerically with dose, although the overall survival difference was not statistically significant.
